What is an IEP?

An IEP (a.k.a. Individualized Education Program) is designed to reflect your child’s current educational performance and document the supports and services required for your child to meet challenging objectives in school.

Your child’s IEP must be updated at least annually. Also, your child’s IEP must be appropriate, which means it has to allow them to meet challenging objectives in school.

Please consult with an attorney if you have questions about the IEP development process or the appropriateness of an IEP.
